In Hardcore mode the player goes through the game as normal, however death is permanent. If the player is looking for more of a challenge than the standard game allows, there are 3 different game modes for the player to chose from: Standard, Hardcore, and Ladder. The player will have 6 skills and 3(or 4) passive abilities to chose from at one time, giving each set a unique gaming experience, depending on how they decide to play.
When leveling up, the player will gain access to a variety of different abilities with which they can customize their character. In Diablo 3, the Nephalem will travel around the world of Sanctuary, stopping Diablo's minions by leveling up and collecting tons upon tons of different gear. Each of these different classes give a very unique gaming experience, depending on the playstyle you prefer. The player can choose between six different characters, the Demon Hunter, the Monk, the Barbarian, the Wizard, the Witch Doctor, and the Paladin. The player plays a Nephalem, a descendant of an ancient line of great warriors, who is tasked with stopping Diablo from destroying the world. In the game, the player fights against Diablo, The Lord of Terror, to try and stop him from destroying the world of Sanctuary.
